Nothing Personal
“Whatever you do or dream you can do — begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.”
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Today’s performance (122) is dedicated to Maria, with whom I shared many overnight shifts at the Spoleto Festival, USA production office, where, at about 4am, we once panicked because we thought the college radio station DJ had fallen asleep and so we called over there to wake him up only to discover we’d been listening to a CD and not the radio like we thought, after which it was time to make breakfast for the overnight opera-out/ballet-in crew, so we went to Harris Teeter and got Eggo waffles and syrup which, during clean-up, we would put in each other’s hair.
